On Tuesday 26.08, the wind is very weak but the swell is big after yesterday’s strong wind. We sail despite this because we need to start moving if we want to get somewhere.
We go under engine over 40nm across the Bay of Gävle and overnight in a small cove on the southern shore called Gårdskär.
Next day, Wednesday 27.08 starts with a week wind. We try sailing it but we engage the engine so as to get somewhere.
We pass the Björn cape and turn to a more southern heading, A wind comes – from the south. We continue under engine, aiding with sails sometimes.
We pass Öregrund and moor in a natural harbor at Varvsholmen several miles after the town. Altogether again 40 nm today.
Next day, Thursday 28.08, we sail among Roslagen skerries. The wind comes from the bow direction or not at all so it is engine all the time again. After 3 hours, we arrive at an island called Vässerö where we end for today, because it is pretty and we haven’t yet been here.
The Cats are positively surprised by this short leg today. We take a walk, greet some mutton to the grill, play guitar, and bath in the cove.
