The weather forecast is about gale force winds from the following evening on. We need to find a shelter early. While we wonder about this, a yacht passes us, going under engine. These are the nice neighbours who had helped us at the island of Lidö. They plan to weather the expected storm in Öregrund. For us this would mean a very short leg but a good shelter – we won’t find a better one in the reach of today’s weak wind sailing. We have bad experiences from the previous year from that harbour, but it will be not a motorboaters’ week this time. So we decide to go there.
We spent two days and two nights in Öregrund. We supplied the boat, spent nice evenings with the nice neighbors, and survived quite a sizable storm in the safe harbor.
When the storm subsided, we continued our journey north. But weak wind combined with the swell from the yesterday’s gale makes the sailing tiring. I am worried about the Cats’ wellbeing, as they hadn’t really enjoyed the stay in the urban marina either. We do a short sailing only and arrive to Ängskär, which we know from the previous year. We are the only guest boat there and the Cats can roam around freely.
