Season 2024 starts

Quite much happened in that season – so that we didn’t manage to update the blog on the run. So this a recount of our sailing 2024 post-factum.

Before the season, we had planned or rather hoped to sail as far north as possible – possibly to the furthers edge of the Gulf of Bothnia and visit the city of Oulu in Finland. I had spent there some time as a child, when my Mother was working at a construction of a power plant. And recently, an acquaintance of Agnieszka moved there from the area of Södermanland where we live now in Sweden. All in all, just a pretext to sail into the North.

We started by just living onboard for a couple of days in our summer harbour of Oxelösund. The Cats were getting used to living like that and were visiting neighbour boats. Kajjan decided to move ashore in one of the empty summer houses there and came to the boat for meals only.

We sailed away towards Stockholm on June 6th. Stopping for a night in Ringsön’s natural harbour and in Nynäshamn we arrived in Saltsjöbaden on June 8th afternoon. This trip over waters well known to us were an easy onboarding for our four-legged crew members.

We spent a working week in Saltsjöbaden. I was able to comfortably commute from there to the office with the public transportation. One afternoon, we organized a party for my work colleagues at our dock. In Salsjöbaden marina even guests can book a grill booth for a private party. Meanwhile, Kajjan would frequently go ashore to seek adventure in bushes behind the marina buildings.

The following weekend, we moved the boat to another harbour in Stockholm’s area, Bosö on the island Lidingö. We spent the night in the wild in Skarpö bay at the island Vindö.
