In the weekend of 24-25th of August I sailed away from the Bosö marina with a friend of mine, Mikolaj. Overnighting in a cove of Skarpö, known to me already, we arrived to the marina of Saltsjöbaden, after a whole day of fight against opposing gale-force wind.
Next weekend, I take another crewmember onboard – Roman, a colleague from the office. We sail away from Satltsjöbaden aiming to arrive to Nynäshamn on Sunday, where from I could sail home the following weekend easily.
A strong wind supports us and we arrive to Nynäshamn on Saturday quite early. We decide however not to go to the city but to overnight in the wild. We moor at the island Stora Ramklov and spend the evening at grill and talk.
Next morning, a sporty but short sailing takes us to the city marina, where Roman disembarks and takes the train home. I get to do some work on the boat and when I bow over something, my cellphone falls overboard and sinks in the harbour along with most photos from the season.
Finally, on Friday, September 6th, I arrived at the boat after work in Stockholm office. The next morning I get up and realize that the harbour is under fog. The forecast shows that the fog is only close to the shore, so I dare to sail away.
Indeed, the fog stops being a problem couple of hundred meters away from shore. I could set the sails and had an easy sailing to Oxelösund, where Agnieszka helped me to moor.
This concludes our first trip to the waters north of Stockholm. We sailed 712 nautical miles, we met nice people and saw nice places, we arrived where we had yet not been before. We trained sailing with the Cats and the search for Cats in the bushes and sheds prior to sailing away. We need to see if we can use these experiences in the next season.
